Applying for a place at Oakfield

Although our building is large, and staff numbers high, we only have approximately 20 full time (or equivalent) places to offer each year.  We offer both full time places and part time (3 or 4 day) places (however, no sessional care).

As places are limited and demand high, it is recommended that an application form is completed and returned to us as soon as possible in order to secure a place.  Please telephone 0161 928 4255 for an application form and written information to be sent to you.  Alternatively to download our Application Form click here.  Most children are registered while mother is in the early stages of pregnancy.

All applications will be acknowledged.  On receipt of your details, we will examine our forecasts to see whether we can fulfil your requirements.

If we have a place to offer you, we will contact you by telephone to arrange a date for you to come and view the nursery.  Acceptance of the place needs to be confirmed in writing within a week of your viewing.

If we are unable to offer you a place initially, we will write and let you know.  Your information will then be kept on our Reserve List in the event of a place becoming available in the future.  We refer to the Reserve List when a place becomes available e.g. due to parents' relocation.  For example, if a 2 year old leaves, then we would look for a 2 year old from the application forms on our Reserve List, to slot into the place.  For this reason, the Reserve List does not operate like a waiting list (where applications work their way to the top).

Generally speaking, if your child's name is registered while mother is in the early stages of pregnancy (i.e. by 12 weeks), there is a good chance of gaining a place at Oakfield.
